Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) are normally funded for just the first two years of life of any United Nations Peacekeeping mission. Haiti (MINUSTAH), however, has been an exceptional case since it started in 2004. Since the mission's mandate has significantly metamorphosed, it has managed to obtain QIPs funding for four straight years and, as it appears, will receive yet a fifth year of QIPs funding.
